Mr John Pasiecznik - Co-Opted Governor
have a lifelong interest in state education and am passionate that every child should have every opportunity to reach their potential.
My Polish and Ukrainian-born parents - whose own education was severely curtailed by the Second World War - always encouraged me to learn.
After graduating with a Politics and Modern History degree from Manchester University in 1982, I spent most of my career working for local councils where I kept abreast of issues affecting education and schools over many decades. I retired from Stockport Council in 2018.
I was an active Governor both at St Charles Catholic Primary in Hadfield (1999-2010), and at St Philip Howard Secondary in Glossop (2008-2014) and am currently Clerk to the Governors at Gamesley Early Excellence Centre in Glossop.
I have lived in Hadfield for nearly 30 years and am delighted to become a Governor at Hadfield Infants where I hope that my skills and experience will be of benefit to the school.
Incidentally, I can’t get away from education as my wife Pat was a teacher for 37 years, two of my three daughters are teachers, and one of my daughter’s partners is a teacher!
