I have just joined the Governors at Hadfield Infant School as a co-opted member. I am passionate about education and helping children to be the best they can be! I attended the school and my children, sisters, nieces and nephew have all been pupils there. I highly recommend the school and the current head Miss Barnes is outstanding.
Currently I am a Community worker at Carmel Church, Hadfield. There we offer a variety of free services and events to families and individuals. These include Community Meals, Community Breakfasts, free coffee mornings, Easter fun days, fellowship evenings and much more.
I am currently the Chair of Hadfield Coming Together. We are passionate about our local community. We organise: Bellies not Bins (weekly food recycle project), weekly cooking classes, over 60 Meals, organise community litter picks, help with warm spaces at Hadfield Methodist Church; as well as organising free arts and crafts events.
Our big project this year 2023 is supplying free pack lunches for children, offering 1 hour of exercise, enrichment activities, encouragement of healthy eating and by sign posting encouraging families to access other help and support in the community.
My husband is Councillor Ollie Cross who represents Hadfield and Padfield and is Mayor of High Peak 2022-23 and I am privileged to serve as his Mayoress meeting the wider communities across our area.
