Egg/Teeth Experiment

We carried out an experiment in our Science session to explore what effect different liquids would have on our teeth.  We used hard boiled eggs (to represent teeth) and put them in containers with water, orange juice, coke and vinegar.  We left the eggs for 24 hours then took them out to see what had happened.

The egg that was in water didn't change.

The egg that was in orange juice cracked and the shell started peeling.

The egg that was in coke went brown and black.

The egg that was in vinegar went soft and the shell cracked and bubbled.
