Community events in school

  • Every year the PTA organise a strawberry cream tea, when children can invite family members and friends to an afternoon of celebrations.
  • A family picnic is an annual event, when children have lunch on the school premises with their families and afterwards play games and dance.
  • The school employ a family support worker, who delivers a Parent Support Group each.  During the weekly sessions parents learn about Maslow’s Hierarchical Needs and it enables parents to network and share strategies to support their children.  School achieved the Healthy Schools Award due to the support given to parents.
  • We host a MacMillan Coffee Morning to raise money for MacMillan Nurses.  All the local community is invited to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
  • The children plant and grow vegetables in the school garden.  The produce is then made into soup and distributed to the local homeless people.  Pizzas and bread have also been cooked to support these people who are less fortunate than ourselves.
  • The children are allowed to wear jeans for Jeans for Genes Day and make a monetary donation for this national charity.
  • Hadfield Infant School have been awarded the Community Priorities Programme, the grant allowed the school to erect a shed and purchase gardening tools.
