Sport
At Hadfield Infant School, we are committed to providing a broad, engaging and high-quality physical education offer for all our pupils. We use our Sports Premium funding strategically to enhance our provision, develop staff expertise and provide children with opportunities to experience a wide range of physical activities and sport.
Through our partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, we have a dedicated coach in school one day a week. This partnership provides our pupils with high quality coaching alongside a wealth of exciting opportunities and experiences. These have included match day mascot experiences, attending live games, receiving football kits and sportswear, and special opportunities for disadvantaged pupils, including meeting Santa and receiving Christmas gifts.
Alongside our Manchester United Foundation partnership, we provide a varied programme of physical education and enrichment opportunities. Our children experience activities including football, cricket, gymnastics, yoga, darts and horse riding, enabling them to develop a wide range of physical skills while discovering new interests and ways to enjoy being active.
We are particularly proud of the breadth of our physical activity offer for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. We want every child to develop confidence, coordination, teamwork and perseverance, while developing positive attitudes towards being active that can support a healthy and active lifestyle beyond their time at Hadfield Infant School.
