EYFS Curriculum

At Hadfield Infant School, our EYFS provision is built around the interests and needs of our children, ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging and rooted in real experiences. We plan through a balance of weekly themes and child-led exploration, using approaches such as Drawing Club to develop imagination and literacy, and Little Wandle to deliver high-quality phonics teaching. Our continuous provision extends outdoors all year round, allowing children to explore, discover and learn through play in every season. Enrichment is at the heart of our curriculum – from our advent calendar of daily surprises to intergenerational visits, local walks, map making, secret readers and seasonal projects that connect children with their community and environment. We follow White Rose Maths to build a strong early number sense and provide daily opportunities for physical and emotional development through activities such as Dough Disco, MyHappyMind and the use of calm corners to promote wellbeing and self-regulation. Together, these experiences create a nurturing foundation where curiosity, confidence and a love of learning can flourish.
